The Campsite at Shield Ranch is solar-powered and rainwater-fed, and its sustainable design is a testament to what is possible through deep commitment to conservation. You'll have access to dedicated spaces for charging devices and accessing the internet; you'll also have a real opportunity to step away from the constant overstimulation of city life and step into a more quiet and peaceful present. 

The Campsite's sleeping shelters are screened, shaded by a canopy of oaks and juniper, and open to the breezes, the dawn chorus of birds, and the calls of tree frogs and owls at night. There are three sleeping arrangement options: a private shelter that's entirely your own, a semi-private room within a shared shelter, and a shared shelter for up to three guests. If you experienced a magical summer camp as a child, or always wished you had, this will get you pretty close to the adult version of that. It's simple, comfortable, and surrounded by the Central Texas landscape—you'll have what you need to rest well and show up ready for the work.

This retreat is designed for individual leaders—founders, executive directors, managers, decision-makers—who are ready to align how they lead with what they believe. You don't need to attend as part of a team or organization. The cohort is intentionally composed of leaders from different sectors and contexts, which enriches the peer learning and community throughout the retreat.

The retreat involves outdoor movement at the Campsite at Shield Ranch and walking between spaces. If you have mobility or accessibility needs, please let us know when you register and we'll work with you on the accommodations you need to participate fully.

Comfortable clothing for both indoor sessions and outdoor experiences, a journal, and an open mind. A full packing list will be sent to participants ahead of the retreat.

For guests arriving at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, we will provide rideshare credits to cover transportation to the Campsite. More information will be provided to registrants ahead of the retreat.

Your reservation is confirmed once we receive your non-refundable deposit of 50% of the retreat fee. The remaining balance is due August 1, 2026. For cancellations prior to August 1, your deposit is eligible for credit toward a future retreat. For cancellations after August 1, a 100% cancellation fee will apply. We strongly encourage participants to purchase travel insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances.

At the center of the weekend is the Inclusive Business Model Canvas, a framework developed by Dr. Fadia Nordtveit that helps organizations map how their mission, values, and operations connect—and where there are opportunities to grow or deepen alignment. You'll complete your own canvas during the retreat and leave with it as a working document. The wellness practices introduced during the weekend are also designed to be integrated into your daily leadership well beyond the retreat's end.
